Course Description: THIS IS A MASTERS LEVEL COURSE. The purpose of this course is to explore the role of the nurse as educator and the multiple contexts within which educators practice. The social, political, economic and regulatory forces that shape and inform nursing education and curriculum will be emphasized. Learner demographics, diversity, the influence of stakeholders on the learner, and how the learner shapes the environment will be examined. Strategies for promoting positive educational and clinical environments will be discussed.
