Course Description: Presents advanced statistical methods and necessary statistical assumptions. Explains optimal modeling approaches for different data types and study designs. Data types: binary data, ordinal data, multinomial data, time-to-event data, longitudinal data, hierarchical data and multivariate data. Analytic methods discussed will include nominal, ordinal and multinomial logistic regression, Kaplin-Meier estimation, Cox proportional hazards model, mixed effects models, factor analysis, principal components, canonical correlation, classification and clustering.

Select the appropriate statistical methods for the research design, the research question and the data type 2. Assess appropriate statistical assumptions 3. Interprets the results from the statistical tests
