Course Description: The course will address the issues which shape health care economics and policy development so that students have a framework for understanding the work of legislators and other policy-makers. primary emphasis will be on the state and national levels, but discussion of health issues in developing countries is an important element of context. Discussion will include policy development, policy analysis, the role of government, interest groups, the legislative process and health care financing. Skills will focus on advocacy.
