Course Description: This course introduces students to the concepts and practices of nursing and health care informatics. Topics include (1) introduction to nursing and health care informatics; (2) major nursing and health care informatics applications; (3) evidence based decision support methods and technologies; (4) information systems design and engineering; and (5) new opportunities and emerging trends and innovations. The course includes 50 hours of practice fieldwork in an area of informatics related to your chosen area of focus.
