Course Description: This course will address population health trends and risk factors, population data, social and economic determinants underlying health disparities, community assessment and analysis, statistics used with epidemiological analysis and associated databases. A particular focus will be given to understanding the epidemiological concepts through he lens of health disparity. The class will be structured around research content related to epidemiological methodologies, respective statistics and informatics. Informatics for the purpose of the course, includes information science such as national and regional databases with subsequent retrieval of information and archival, disease, social, and translational informatics related to applied epidemiology.
