Course Description: Exploration of advances in nursing education science and impact of research on pedagogy, roles, and competencies necessary to prepare a well-qualified, diverse nursing workforce across dynamic healthcare systems and environments. Emphasis is on the scholarship of teaching and professional development.

Critique the evolving state of nursing education science within nursing’s historical perspective and context of contemporary challenges and opportunities. 2. Explore the nursing educator scope and standards of practice, values and beliefs, roles, and competencies across nursing education and practice settings. 3. Analyze the impact of technology on learning environments and educator roles. 4. Examine legal and ethical issues relevant to nursing education and professional development. 5. Analyze strategies for successful transitioning to the nurse educator role and functioning within an academic or practice environment.
