Pre-requisites: A foundations course in biobehavioral research or permission of the instructor.

Course Description: This course focuses on applying concepts and measures used in biobehavioral research. It also discusses biobehavioral research priority areas, current methods, and data sources. In addition, students will evaluate the types of measures used in biobehavioral research and relate these to their own focus areas. Students will apply their knowledge from NURS 720 to develop a research proposal incorporating a research framework, concepts and measures, and methods used in biobehavioral research.

Other considerations: The first day of class is synchronous - date/time TBD. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Explore current biobehavioral research priorities. 2. Critically examine biobehavioral methods, measures, and standards. 3. Compare and contrast different data sources. 4. Develop a research proposal including a research framework, concepts and measures, and methods in the student’s area of research.
