Course Description: Exploration of best practices in evidence-based and theory-guided teaching and learning. Analysis of contemporary learning principles and learning styles. Implementation of a variety of high impact strategies for learner engagement across settings, with emphasis on selecting and using teaching technologies.

Other considerations: By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: 1. Examine teaching/learning paradigms and theoretical foundations of education to promote collaborative problem solving, clinical reasoning, and decision making. 2. Integrate evidence-based active teaching strategies to design an online, classroom or clinically based teaching experience promoting analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. 3. Implement theory-guided and evidence-based learning principles effective for diverse learning styles to create a positive learning environment fostering engagement and reflection. 4. Design an educational module or learning activity using selected high impact teaching strategies and tools for adult learners 5. Justify decisions and actions for selection and integration of various information and education technologies for educating transformational nurses.
