Course Description: Focuses on description/evaluation of health care delivery across the continuum of care and integration of nursing care with health care delivery. HCS middle-range theories for descriptive/evaluative research are examined. Advanced methods for research at the system level are addressed. By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: 1. Evaluate the integration of nursing care delivery and health care delivery using the concepts of effectiveness, efficiency and equity. 2. Critique utilization of HCS and informatics middle-range theories regarding care delivery. 3. Analyze an existing data set for use in descriptive/evaluation research on health care delivery. 4. Demonstrate measurement competence at multiple levels of measurement and analysis. 5. Design a data collection protocol to answer a descriptive/evaluative research question regarding health care delivery.
