Course Description: This course examines attributes and issues associated with high-level administrative roles in healthcare organizations. It explores facets of leadership and leadership development in teams and organizations and processes by which people affect change in a variety of roles and situations.

Other considerations: By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: (1) Explain the uniqueness of structures, processes, and interactions in healthcare organizations as they relate to leadership and policy. (2) Apply knowledge of healthcare system culture to negotiate a strategic vision and goals. (3) Formulate a plan to lead and sustain an organizational change. (4) Evaluate personal leadership effectiveness through understanding the meaning of leadership and identifying personal values, traits, and goals that define a personal leadership style.
