Course Description: This course is designed to address anthropological theories of Navajo ancestry. The economic, social, and political development, from early European contact to the present time, is discussed. This includes an overview of important historical trends such as the federally induced Indian laws and other policies within the context of the Navajo Tribe, including Navajo pre-treaty and post-treaty relations and the Navajo Nation’s land growth.
